Charging Bull - oil on canvas work in progress

10/19/26 - I haven't been the greatest at keeping up with the Daily blog posts, but I have been busy painting. I completed the bird dog (check it out on the portfolio page), worked on the underpainting for a buck, and am almost done with a horse on the American Flag (see below). The most satisfying of all, however, was working on this guy. This was just the reminder that I needed. Acrylics suck (for me, at least). I am so so much better and more confident painting in oils, and this proof of it. Granted this bull isn't done and it'll be a while before it's complete, but it's so satisfying to step back and know I'm going in the right direction or at least know what I need to fix and how to go there. Needless to say, I think I'm done painting in acrylics. I have a few on deck, but after I finish them, I'll exclusively work in oils. Acrylics are just not worth the headache for me.
