WIP - Bird dog

I spent about 3 hours working on this bird dog today. The sky has been a bit of a challenge, but I would like to block out the rest of the painting and afterwards possibly do a white wash over it. This is acrylic on a 4ft x 4ft canvas. I hate to hold off on some other paintings, but this guy is taking up a lot of real estate in the studio, so I'd like to get him out of the way.

Eventually I'd like to do a collection of mermaids and ballerinas for my daughter, so Friday I did a small sketch of a mermaid. It was rushed and awful, so not worth posting.
